Graduation Requirements

Bow High School requires 24 credits to graduate

Humanities (8 credits)
  • 2 credits in American Dream: which includes English, US & NH Government

  • 2 credits in America in the World: which includes English, World History & Geography

  • 2 credits in English: which includes .5 credit Senior Seminar and .5 Writing Course (Recommended)

  • .5 Civics and Government (class of 2025 and beyond)

  • .5 Art Elective

  • .5 Money Matters or Personal Finance and Investing I (Personal Finance and Investing I is recommended for students who plan to pursue a degree in business) which includes Economics

  • .5 credit Humanities based electives (Art, Music, English or Social Studies)

Math, Science, Technology & Business (8 credits)
  • 1 credit Integrated Physical Science: which includes Physical, Biological, Earth & Space Science topics

  • 1 credit Integrated Life Science: which includes Physical and Biological Science topics

  • 4 years of Math experiences which must include 3 years of math, including Algebra I

  • .5 Money Matters or Personal Finance and Investing I (Personal Finance and Investing I is recommended for students who plan to pursue a degree in business) which includes Economics (if not completed above in the humanities credits)

  • 1.5-2 credits of any STEMB electives

B.E.S.T. (2.5 credits)
  • 1 credit in BEST 9: which includes Physical & Health Education topics

  • 1 credit in BEST 10: which includes Physical & Health Education topics

  • .5 credit of any BEST elective to be completed in the junior or senior year

Electives (5.5 credits)
  • Electives include any course successfully completed and not yet used to fulfill a requirement listed above. All FACS and World Language courses fall into this category.
Graduation Non-Credit Requirements for all Students

Senior Project/Presentation/Digital Portfolio

  • All students must successfully complete and present a senior project in order to earn a Bow High School diploma. Students will prepare for their Senior Project in their required Senior Seminar Course. The purpose of the Senior Project is to provide seniors with the opportunity to explore and experience interdisciplinary topics of their choice, demonstrating knowledge and public presentation skills. A Digital Portfolio will be required for all graduates. The components of this Portfolio will be determined in each of the student’s required classes.

Community Service / Career Exploration

  • 20 hours minimum for each

  • Pro-rated at 5 hours per year for those students not attending Bow High School for 4 years.
