What's the Cricut?

The Cricut is a brand-name die cutter available at many retailers, running around $250. If you think, "Gee, that's expensive for a school," then you should price out some of the more "professional" die cutters. Also, you'll find that it will get lots of use once people start to hear about it. And consider that custom t-shirts usually cost, what, fifteen bucks? Grab a cheep shirt from Target or Michael's (they often have t-shirts for a couple of bucks), or even buy bulk from cheapesttees.com or another source. The BHS LC Work Room has a variety of inexpensive t-shirts, long sleeve shirts, and sweatshirts you can buy from us that we got some serious deals on. You can save some serious money by making t-shirts yourself!

"But wait," you say, "what is the Cricut?" It's a machine that can serve two purposes: drawing and cutting. It can use multiple types of materials, including paper and card stock, vinyl for stickers, iron-on transfer material, and many, many more.

There are loads of tutorials online and on YouTube. These will help you out a ton. But to get started, head to the Basics sub-page to get started.
